They have found that the relationship with the humans began more than 18.800 years ago. Maybe amateur dogs or the curious ones should begging "visiting" humans to find some food from dead animals that humans killed. Since then the relationship between them have improved a lot because they find advantages on each other.Humans began domesticating them so that they could help them hunting. They have been only considerated pets for 2.000 years more than less.
Robert Wayne, who's the coauthor of the research from the UCLA publicated in the magazine Science, says that the wolf is the first specie and the only one big carnivorous that humans have domesticated.
But, what about the place and the time that it happens?

Until now the scientist thought that they were domesticated by farmers from Middle East, but in this research they have found that the first humans that domesticated them were hunters and gatherers from Europe around 18.800 and 32.100 ago.
For example they have compared three American pre-Columbian dogs and they have seen that they have a common origin with European dogs, so that suggests that domesticated canines come to America with the first humans from Europe.

The scientists thinks that it is a big progress, but it isn't enough. They think that this data should be confirmed with different information, not only from the DNA because it can get easily useless because of their old age.
That's an interesting research, don't you think? We hope that they will be able to find out more about dog's origin in the future, and if they we'll tell you!
Don't hesitate to comment, and until the next post (I have heard it is about Labradors :3)!
